Description
Part 1 of the How To Talk So Kids Can Learn Group Workshop focuses on the foundational communication skills that help teachers and parents support children’s learning at school and at home. This workshop can be conducted by an experienced leader, or it can be used by a group of teachers and parents who want to learn together. In the six sessions of this workshop, participants will be introduced to skills that will:
- Help children cope with feelings that interfere with learning
- Engage children’s cooperation without bribes, threats and punishment
- Set limits while maintaining good will
- Teach children creative problem solving strategies
- Motivate children to succeed through effective use of praise
- Help teachers and parents form a strong partnership to support children in their academic endeavors
